IP Wireless Backhaul > ALB-400/200-S: Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint Synchronous IP backhauling systems

ALB-400-S and ALB-200-S synchronous systems belong to the ALB family of carrier-class IP backhauling solutions designed by Albentia Systems to provide high-performance backhaul networks in Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint configurations.

Apart from the numerous advantages of the ALB-200/400 equipment, ALB-200/400-S provide true end-to-end synchronous links, so that timing and synchronization references (10MHz and 1pps) can be reliably regenerated at remote locations for synchronous backhauling applications like GSM/3G backhauling, TDD synchronization of WiMAX access networks and DVB-T multiplex transport, avoiding the need for expensive GPS timing references.

Point-to-Point synchronous IP links providing up to 35 Mbps Ethernet aggregated throughput are simply formed by two ALB-200-S stations, one acting as master station and the other acting as slave station. Higher capacity links can be built based on synchronized parallel ALB-200-S links working on different frequencies, polarizations and antennas, providing numerous diversity and redundancy options.

Point-to-Multipoint synchronous IP links are based on an ALB-400-S Base Station providing connectivity to several ALB-200-S slave stations.

The ALB-400-S (PtMP) or ALB-200-S (PtP) master station synchronizes the radio link to the provided timing and frequency references so that the ALB-200-S slave stations can regenerate these references. Synchronism acquisition is achieved in a few seconds, with jitter and wander performance meeting the strictest requirements.
